| Spare time? What's that??? lol. Well, I guess now you know I'm passionate about my work - I love it, it defines me (isn't that sad!!), and I wouldn't have it any other way! The lines therefore between doing stuff I love for work, and doing what I love for play, are somewhat blurred, but still when I deliberately don't work, I love reading, listening to (good recordings of!) older music from the swing era (big fan of Frank Sinatra's). I actually enjoy shopping, believe it or not, and love going to the theater when opportunity arises (to watch shows that are primarily entertainment and not too pretentious!). Huge eclectic taste in movies - I'll usually watch anything from any era, from blockbusters to the old musicals. Particularly love the technicolor epics. So, naturally, I collect DVD's (it began with laserdiscs - remember those?). It's my one vice - others go out drinking or on the pull, I'm browsing through the DVD catalog and mail-ordering a few a month. Hey, it's a hobby! I'm also a big family man - I grew up in an environment where family were also my friends and I know how lucky I am because of that. Not as big as the family used to be, I still enjoy spending time with them, and with my young niece who flatly refuses to call me 'Uncle' (thank God!). I play computer games quite a lot - strategy and RPG mainly, although I did play the beginning of Doom 3 and will definitely come back to it when it doesn't scare the hell out of me (I followed the advice in the book and turned off the lights while playing ... not a good idea if you value your night's sleep!).

| I very rarely meet anyone I find interesting AND attractive. From a physical standpoint, I go for petite, have a particular attraction to blondes (maybe I just enjoy disproving the myth about 'typical' blondes, as I don't believe hair color or body type has any detrimental effect on brain power!). | Dating isn't about the place, it's about the person. You can be in the best place in the world but if the person you're with isn't clicking, then you don't enjoy it. Similarly, you can be in the worst possible place but if you like the company, it can be great. First dates are difficult, and I challenge anyone to tell me they actually enjoy the dating process while they're searching for Mr. Right! What I CAN say is that the usual neutral places are cool enough - restaurants, cinema, bowling. |
